October 25th 2008 - Treasure Hunt

On a cold but bright Saturday morning, over 40 people gathered near St. Paul's Cathedral to start on what was a 4 hour treasure hunt taking everyone from the Tate Modern along the River Thames to Smithfield Market. All manner of clues were uncovered, treasures sought and even some additional but interesting forfeits.

Of course there was the post-treasure hunt discussions, some involving people dressed as pirates! All in all, this was a very social coming together of friends and colleagues.

LfL would like to thank the organisers Ben and Rebecca Gregory and Joanne Chapman for all their help and support throughout the day. The total raised from the event was over £400.

March 2008 - Lessons for Life Event

This event was held to provide an update to many of those people who attended the launch. The turnout was more than expected and the entire evening turned out to be successful in several ways.

There were presentations from the Trustees but more importantly, our guest speaker, Jan Bell who has been one of LfL's inspirations was there to present how it all started with her fantastic efforts in Uganda providing education for many students. This was ideal for getting the experiences directly from Jan who spent nearly 5 years in Uganda.

As Trustees, we decided to make Jan Bell an ambassador for Lessons for Life as she has continued to provide guidance and help.

As an addition to the evening, we also sold many crafts that were hand made by many of the students at the Railway School in Uganda.
