Lessons for Life - Launch Party

The Lessons for Life launch party was a great success. With over 50 attendees making up a very attentive and appreciative crowd, the charity got off to a wonderful start.

The evening was a mix of social networking and informing people about the charity. Collectively, the Trustees gave a  presentation that provided an overview on

• the Trustees’ backgrounds for setting up Lessons for Life
• the charity's objects, mission and guiding principles
• what makes Lessons for Life different
• key facts about Uganda
• the educaton system and its current sources of funding (what little there is)
• how we work with representatives abroad to meet the charity's rules of governance through control of funds and close monitoring
• projects in the pipeline and individual sponsorships
• short term goals highlighting the need for targeting regular payments and reaching targets
• how the people at the launch could help and how they could be involved

During the course of the evening we had great acknowledgement from everyone and the feedback was positive, much of which has now been taken on board for future consideration by the Trustees.
